Nexus S 4g battery life

My gf has a nexus s 4G and signal is bad, battery dies even when phone is off and phone calls aren't clear. Any ideas?

Go to sprint and have it replaced. Mine had a bad cpu battery still drains, but I no longer have dropped calls or missed calls.
