Nexus S has no cell service after OTA

Woke up this morning to see an OTA on my stock Nexus S (imported) on ATT. Installed the 2.3.6 update and now my phone has no cell service. The SIM is detected, but I get no service messages. Anyone have any thoughts on what to do?

possibly you'd need to select att as carrier since phones default might be carrier in phones country of origin?

I registered just to add my 2 cents...

The upgrade went fine, just forgot that my root access would be gone...

Other than that, I also have no cell access.

Same issue...I had to root the phone and drop back to 2.3.4 to restore the radio. While that seems simple to type, it took my about 8 hours as nothing went as planned. The Google help forum is full of users responding to my posts with the same issue....and has no response form Google.

Consensus is they released the OTA to all version, when it should have only been for one of them....hosing all the other radios.
