Are any of you finding your battery charging slower than anything in the world? I plug it in last night for all night at 15% when I wake up at 10:30 it's only at 69%. Anyone else no what's wrong or have this issue?

Mine doesn't take that long but it definitely longer than any other phone I've ever owned.
Mine was completely dead this morning and it's been plugged in since about 930 and its currently at 92 percent. During this time I've only sent four emails, no messages, no web browsing, no apps, nothing besides four emails.

The phone does take a little longer to charge but thankfully it also takes longer for the battery to run down. The battery life is very good.

I'm not sure if it's related to the Nexus S, but my Epic 4G shipped with a .5 amp charger which made it charge redicolously slow, like 12 hours to get a full battery.

But I used a charger HTC supplied with the EVO (which I believe to be 1 amp) and it charged from empty to full in a little under 3 hours.

I noticed slow charging too. I received the OTA update a few days ago and it seems that charging is faster now.

Here is the recommendation:
1. Do not charge your phone unless it is SUPER dead. Maybe 10% or below.
2. Try to turn your phone off when charging. (Helps it get a better charge)
3. If you don't want to turn it off then do not mess with your phone.
This is what I was told when I asked about the battery and charging.
Usually (if you don't use your phone as an alarm) at night when you are asleep is a good time to turn your phone off and let it get a GOOD charge. Try this and tell me if it helps. This os what Best BUy told me to do and so the my previous carrier.
Thank me if it helps.

That was the straw that broke the camel's back for me, retuned my nexus s an hour ago.

Really? Slow charging? The battery on this thing is good enough to make it through a day with heavy use, necessitating charging only overnight. That should be plenty of time, at least it is for mine, to get full again and be ready to go all day again. This is easily the best android phone I've had, better than the N1 and Vibrant and HD2, and the first one to be fully usable without a midday charge - something I haven't really seen since my iPhone days

I'll echo some of the earlier comments. My NS does seem to charge slower (maybe half the rate of my N1), but the battery lasts so much longer.

Definitely not unacceptably slow like the OP describes.

I just received the OTA, we'll see if that changes anything.

Don't have a Nexus S, but I had a Captivate (at&t's Galaxy S phone) for two or three weeks and its charging was ABYSMALLY slow. If the Nexus S's charging is anything like that, I can see how it could be a no go for the OP. Currently unemployed, so I could just let it charge for as long as it needed since I was at home. But for anyone who's out and about, doesn't work in an office? That **** would suck. But if you guys say the batter lasts a long time anyway...

Seems better

Since the ota I think this might be better. At first it was taking the whole night and then some to fully charge but now it seems to be fine after a few hours. Anyone else finding this as well? The battery is great - always gets me through the day no matter how much angry birds or email I write.

i noticed the slow charging too,, i tried connecting my ipod touch wall battery charger with the cable of the nexus, and it charges faster.

our nexus S charger comes with a .7 amp output and the ipod charger comes with a 1 amp output, both with 5 volts, i think maybe the higher amp could mean that it charges faster, because i can see the difference.

if you have one of these, try it out.

I drained my battery last night to 0 and then charged and it charged a lot faster. Thought I would share that.

Is anyone actually looking in the dmesg log, filtered for battery, using OS monitor to see the actual current mA going into the battery during charging? Nexus one pulls around 850mA on wall charger.
