Klutzy me dropped it into a bowl when I was doing dishes. We'll see how well it deals with a little water. I had a Seidio case on it so there didn't seem to be much water in the battery area, but the speaker cut out instantly so I doubt that'll be working very well. I pulled the battery as fast as I could (about 5 seconds) and I'm going to let it dry out overnight at least.

Back to my sluggish OG Droid I go...

Thinking about it, this highlights my biggest gripe about the Galaxy Nexus: no SD card.

My backups could be gone, pictures (that aren't on Dropbox), music...all of which would be just fine on an SD card that I could transfer to a new phone. Guess I should backup everything to Dropbox that I can next time (hopefully this time)

Do the rice method overnight and hopefully should be fine.

I have done it as well, right into the toilet, so it was totally submerged (it was clean water!)... thank god it didn't go into the hole...

Anyway, I shut it ASAP, pulled the batt, and actually dipped it in rubbing alcohol for only a couple of seconds since it dries faster than water and cleans off any mineral deposits the water might leave. Then into the rice for overnight. Worked like a charm.

I once took my girls phone that was dropped in water and put it in a ball jar and pulled a vacuum on it to draw off the moisture seem to work ok after a day of evacuation. My even dry out the sensor I believe they put in the phone. Same procedure they use for evacuation of a refrigeration system may be able to use a food evacuation system not quit the vacuum as a commercial vacuum pump
