I like that the GS3 and other phones have them in the phones but other than sharing pics and Google wallet, what else can you do with it? I was just going thru my phone and forgot I had it and then that question was raised. Are there other apps that utilize the software?

They also have the nfc tags you can program your phone to do certain things when you tap them. Such as having a tag in you car set to put your phone in driving mode.

If you use S-Beam instead of regular Android Beam, you can send much larger files than just pictures.

I think in a year or 2 we will start seeing NFC tags on product displays like you see qr codes now
