NFC Error out of the box....

Not really... If I had gotten it at store I would have just returned it for an exchange.... though I'm not sure how that would have worked with a place like Gamestop which only have pre-order stock for while to come....

I was too stuck on wifi connect screen before I disabled the MAC filtering on router. Disable MAC filters (advanced security) on your router. You can reenable MAC filtering after adding your N7 MAC into that list. It's crazy that I can't even know what is the MAC of my device until whole setup is completed.

And mine does the same thing...

Why me Jebus?

Factory reset did nothing. After being on hold for an hour I was told that my wait time for another tablet was TBD. Now I get to play the waiting game all over again. Sigh... Google will probably charge me to ship the device.

Nope... has nothing to do with Mac filtering in our case. I'm only stuck at the wifi screen because the pop up doesn't allow you time to enter your password.

Now, I eventually smartened up(should of thought of this hours earlier but i guess frustration sets in) but I disabled security on my router for a little bit just so I could select my router and connect the N7 to the internet inbetween NFC popups.

This worked and through the popups I slowly logged in my device with Google and got the home screen....... where I then found out the Launcher is crashing too..... So now I have two popups.....

I was able to navigate slowly to the settings and turn off NFC which stopped the NFC popup. After a while then launcher pop up stopped too! So now I was nearly with a functioning device! But quickly learned that this unit or something is just fubared..... nearly everything crashing all the time. Then the "UI" crashes and you can see it reset itself, then the launcher randomly crashes again.... I may be able to play with a few small features here and there but now its just wait for the new one.

One option I could try just to screw around while I wait is to try and flash it with stock rom and see if that works because it mainly seems like a software issue.... but who knows.

Wow... well welcome to the club... If you can try and log onto an open wifi you'll get it to the home screen and you can disable NFC in the settings. But I have a feeling you'll end up with the same launcher issue's too....

I guess I luckily called in early enough and they said they'll be able to get me a new unit by the end of the week.... i guess I'll have to see if they stick to that....... :-\

I disabled the nfc and had the same issues with the launcher crashing as you. I also have the screen issue where the edge is popping up slightly. My new tablet is crap.

I got doubled donged on this one.

Great news! Got my Nexus 7 working flawlessly!!

Spoke to a buddy about it and he suggested I flash it with the stock rom directly from Google.

Used this program thats normally used for unlocking and rooting: [Toolkit] Nexus Root Toolkit v1.5 - xda-developers

The driver setup process was a bit of a pain in the ass, but otherwise once I Flashed it to stock it worked perfectly as it should have from Google! I'm still going to take a replacement just incase there is something physically wrong with this one but so far so good until the new one arrives!

LOL whoops... responded before seeing the newest posts... ummm yeah! haha

I too have great news!

Google has finally taken my money for my Nexus 7! Still don't have it in hand, nor do I even have a confirmation from Google, but it's at least something!

Congrats on getting yours working. Good to know there's a fix in case this happens with mine.

Soo.... I'm glad I wasn't depending on Google to RMA my N7 anytime soon..... I was told they would email me within 24hrs... its been 5 days and I haven't heard a peep. I still this unit replaced, this is a bit ridiculous.... I'll have to call back on Monday....
