NFC logo on verizon

I got the phone yesterday and I swear there was no NFC logo up in the status bar. I just rebooted and now it's there. I haven't touched the NFC settings since I got it. Anybody else have this happen?

The S6 got a system update pretty soon after it was released. Maybe it's due to the update?

My S6 had the NFC icon in the status bar when I first got my phone. I went into settings and turned off NFC which made the icon go away.

As far as I know, there has been no update for the VZW version. I haven't received one anyway.

I have had NFC on since I first turned it on. I could just been blind until now
