I've always wanted to buy the different colors of flip cases on ebay. I don't really like the cases since you have to take the back cover off, but since on ebay they're on aution for like 1 cent, I woudn't mind just getting one to just have it. Then I thought about the NFC on the case could it cause a malfunction to my phone, is the NFC fake as well(which I know it is) so will it do nothing at all to the phone?

The majority of those cheap flip cases (if not all) don't have the NFC chip in them, hence why they're so cheap as well as being fake. If the auction specifically says that it does have NFC and or you see a pic with it I'd be darn surprised it it actually did. However, if you do pick up a fake one with NFC, I doubt it'd do anything to mess the phone up. The actual NFC chip is in the phone and the case just has the contacts on it. Maybe post a link of the one you're eye-ballin?

I bought a 3rd party flip case in red. I read reviews on the seller on those who had purchased for their S3 and iPhone and all gave great ratings. I am not concerned.
I won't however purchase 3rd party batteries.

Gamesyeah is the seller I purchased from. Guarantee satisfaction or can refund. That's a plus ....

No that shouldn't cause any damage. In the GN2, the NFC chip is in the phone. In others (GNEX) it is in the battery itself. I think you'd be fine getting that one.

For Galaxy SII the NFC Chip AND antenna was in the Battery, so getting a 3rd party battery meant that you either lost NFC capabilities or could end up with a faulty NFC one. In the Note 2, the chip is in the phone itself and the antenna is part of the backcover (genius move by marketing, IMHO), thus forcing you to buy original Samsung or licensed products. If you DO get a 3rd party accessory that is not sanctioned by Samsung, you can lose NFC capability if the backcover you purchased doesn't have a NFC antenna but you are also at risk of damaging your phone if the cover has a faulty antenna (imagine it shortcircuits your chip because of poor soldering...). I may be exaggerating but it is a possibility.

Yea im not taking chances, I just bought another flip case instead of the back cover replacing kinds

I did get a 3rd party flip case. Using it now. No problems with it. No fake NFC chips. Nothing on it. Having no problems with my Note2. Works perfectly. I wanted a red case. Its a little taller. The inside is suede like material. Phone snaps into it. Very secure. I am pleased
