NFC transfers

I was recently testing out capabilities of performing NFC data transfers between my HTC One e8 and my friend's Samsung S5. My phone had no problem sending files to the Samsung; it did however have problems receiving. My friend's Samsung would start to send, the e8 would acknowledge the NFC transfer starting, but then it would go to the Google play store mentioning "item not found" with a retry button just below.

I don't know what's triggering the Play store to launch, but it has me thinking that there must be some conduit needed on my e8 to receive files from the S5. Any thoughts?
