My friends one has a NFC logo in the notification bar but my one doesnt seem to show up when i turn it on and also it doesnt seem to beam anything

I'm on Sprint and the logo does not show up, but it definitely works on my phone. Did you check the box to enable it? Also, depending on your case, it might not work.

My friends one was originally locked to voda uk but was unlocked and shows the logo.. Mine is factory unlocked and i have no case

You might have to position the One lower in relation to the phone you want to transfer to. The ring around the camera is the antenna for NFC on this phone.

I have the DE and I don't have an NFC icon in the notification bar either. Mine works fine.
