I have a simple rule: Want to ensure I will virtually never use a given app? Just force it on me and you have just given me every reason in the world to hate it.

I carry a similar policy with spammers.

While it's nice that they include it.. VZW should also give us a means to remove it. It is, for your situation, nice though.
