NFL RedZone Free on X

I stood in line on launch day and it's not free for me. I tried to download the app in July, but it was pulled from the market.

Have those of you who have "free" access actually checked your bills? I wouldn't doubt that some people actually clicked "yes" to sign up for VCast accidentally.

If it is free for some only, that's total bull$hit.

Just added the app and was watching a live game NYG/Colts. It showed vcast but did not indicate any type of charge. Pretty nice if free, maybe not if paid.

My bill has no VCast charges and it doesn't show on my account manager online. I've done some googling, but no one seems to know why, just a bunch of guesses. It is free for me so I'm certainly not going to call Verizon and ask why, but if I wasn't getting it like some of you are I would have been on the phone hours ago with them.

I've had my X since July 16th. I installed the NFL app a month ago. I just tried to watch the Colts / Giants game and it says I must purchase VCast for $10/month or $3/day. What gives?

pretty sure you had to download the app prior to july 24 before they changed the terms and conditions. Doesn't matter when you bought the phone.

If you downloaded the app by July 21st, this season is free. Download after July 21st, and it is 10 dollars per month to watch video. Charges began on 9/1. It will be on your next bill.

Verizon and NFL Mobile: The Evolution of Fandom

When the app was available I sent a text to the number located on the NFL mobile website ever since then I have been able to access the NFL network streaming to my phone and I just tried the Redzone last night and it worked perfectly, i do not remember being prompted to activate Vcast on my X but my buddy just got a DINC and he was prompted. I will be checking my bill next cycle to see if there are any additional charges.

Has any one successfully streamed the Redzone to their TV using Real HDMI?
I tried it last night and there was a black box in the middle of my tv screen covering up some of the screen blocking the view of the game somewhat.
Anyone know how to fix this?

Sorry for misleading people on it being free, but it seems like a lot of us are receiving it free.

I also have checked my bill and there is no charge on it. My sister tried it didn't work as it said she had to purchase VCast. Well, it was great for me yesterday.

If you had NFL by july 21st, call VZW CS. They should take care of you and make the season free.

It's not free, You can download the app for free and after that you are billed $9.99 a month for using the application. It signs you up automatically for Vcast after you download it.

At least thats what I was told at Verizon.

I was totld something totally different, that there is no 'automatic' fee, that it will prompt you to pay. Me and my wife have been using the app since preseason just fine, no charges incurred.

Intersting, I have been watching for the last few weeks and I never signed up either. But I still have not gotten my first bill since moving over from BB. I guess I will have to take a look and see what I get charged for and what I don't.

Hate to break it to people but it is indeed free for some of us. No hidden charges. No automatic billing of vcast. Nothing. Just free.
