I got the new update on the Camera app. The digital zoom is much better. Low light is also better. But I don't see the night mode that they have talked about. Has it come to Pixel 2?

Not yet. Sometime soon, hopefully.

What is your new 'panorama mode' like?
I'm not impressed by it at all.

A. Night sight comes with the Google Camera P3. You can search and find the APK.
B. I prefer the old panorama process but on the rare occasions I get it right the new panorama gives excellent results. I think Google did their testing using a tripod.
C. Normal camera does so well I doubt I'll use night sight.

While normal works extremely well in terms of its contemporaries, Night Sight elevates the standard substantially in terms of delivery in ultra-low-light. While it yields pictures that don't generally retain the 'shot-at-night' feel, it can provide usable images where the current release camera comes up at a loss - night sight actually provides dramatically more information in low light than the human eye can even perceive.

Completely agree, Night Sight is for those times when you would love to capture a shot but there is simply not enough light. We have all been there. For those times Night Sight will be indispensable.

There are two ways to shoot panorama, use the panorama mode which you can only take horizontal and it's different than before. Or, use can use Photo Sphere mode where you can shoot sphere, panorama in horizontal or vertical, new is in square and circle.

NightEnabled Google Camera 3 if you want to download the apk. No, it won't take pictures in total darkness, but it comes close. Tap More (on the menu along the bottom) then Night.

Thanks, just installed it.
(Same lousy panorama mode though!) :)

<< EDIT| >>
OK, so with BOTH camera apps when I go to MORE and choose PHOTOSPHERE I get the old panorama mode again. HOORAY, all is right in the world again! :-$

I thought photosphere was more like a 360 cam

I installed the apk last night. Couldn't believe how well night mode works... Here's a picture with just normal mode, no flash and then the same photo with night mode...
