Night sight is here!

In certain situations I feel that using regular camera mode produces a more realistic picture as night sight sometimes make it seem like it's day-time.

Better that than an effectively unusable picture. It's like using flash, but better, it looks to me.

You have to select Night Sight from More options. If you don't have it, you have to wait for it to be available for your device.

Honestly just waiting for a really good port for other phones If only other companies focused as much on software~

That's why we love our pixels..... Google can do magic with software ;-) And they support their phones like nobody else making Android phones :-D

When you open the camera, you will need to scroll the menu so you see the choices all the way to the right (swipe left). Night Sight and several other options will be on the screen. Select it and then it will work just fine.

It is a prolong exposure, so it is not something you would want the camera to do automatically.

It's not part of a system update; it's an application update. Do you have that enabled in the Google Play Store?
What version of the Google Camera application do you have? This is what's installed on my Pixel 2 XL; IDK if the version on the Pixel 3 is different, but this has the Night Sight feature.
