Hey there
I have a new pixel 3 xl that is up to date and so is the camera app. When I enable night sight it doesn't really do anything in the dark. I tested it out in my dark room and the picture just ended up dark. I reset my phone and it had the same problem. Any insight ?

You still need a source of light; it'll never work in a totally dark space.

Try turning on a hall lamp and leaving your door open. Take a shot in normal mode and another in Night Sight mode. Do you see the difference?

As N4Newbie said, it does require *some* light for it to work. It won't work in an absolutely pitch black scene.

But if it's mostly dark with a little light, it'll work.

Also, just as in "real photography" low-light situations mean long exposure times to allow the film or sensor to gather enough light to register an image. That means Night Sight will work poorly if there is any motion in the field of view.

Images made with my Pixel 3 XL aren't "real photography"?
