Hey guys. I have the night sight feature on my pixel 2 XL now, but every time I take a picture with it, the photo is always blurry. Am I doing something wrong?

Can you post an example? If it's really low light, I think there's a certain small degree of blurriness you can't avoid.

I have taken several pictures and they came out pretty good. You have to hold the phone very still. It's no different than with a DSLR taking low light photos. Any movement will cause the photo to be blurry.

Like the others said you have to keep it really steady. Also, you can't expect great sharpness from it either especially if it's close to being no light at all.

If you see Google's example of how it works that's pretty much the best scenario on when to use it. Everyone is just trying to shoot in super darkness to just test its limits but it's not going to be the best result.

Everyone needs to understand that it’s main usefulness is if you happen to see Elvis in a UFO at midnight. At least you’ll get somewhat of an image.
Don’t expect nice super quality photos from it.

Like others have said you need to hold the camera VERY steady during the photo which could take 5-6 seconds. If you do that the photo will come out unbelievably good. I just upgraded the camera a couple hours ago and here is the first Night Sight shots I took.

Explanation: I turned off all the lights in our dining - living area. Only the TV was on plus several battery operated candles that my wife loves to have on :)
It was so dark I had trouble seeing things (except the TV). The Night Sight photo looks like the lights are on. Night Sight is crazy good

I'll post some pictures tomorrow actually deleted the ones I took LOL. But maybe you guys are right, it's probably my hand shaking the camera.

Try setting it to a 3 second timer and prop your phone on something so you can take the picture without holding the phone. Good test as you should see no blurry from camera shake you get from holding it.
