Nintendo emulator

I want to play Nintendo games on my phone. Do I need to download an emulator? If so which is the best one? Where do I get the games and the emulator? And if possible is it ok for my phone not to be rooted? Thanks

Just so you know, downloading Nintendo games for use with emulators is technically illegal. The emulator itself is fine, but the games are still Nintendo's IP and protected by law. Redistribution of them is expressly forbidden. Not being the internet policeman, just sharing what I know.
