Nixon Mission

Has anyone swapped their bands and able to provide some photos?
I swapped my band for another branded Nixon one. I haven't gone third party.

My only complaint is that Nixon made these bands entirely way too short. Per their Facebook page, they are aware of this and are making a longer band. But unfortunately they don't seem to have some sort of swap program which I think is lame. The watch isn't cheap and sticking it to us that need a larger band seems unfair.

It's a standard hex head. Look for bits at your local hardware store. I suggest Harbor Freight. They sell a kit with a ton of bit heads of all different types/sizes.

Yes, the bands are swappable with most 23mm. It's a standard pin setup just with screws instead of spring loaded.

picked my Mission up last week, running Android Wear 2.0 straight from initial start up and it's been great. Even survived water skiing on the weekend with no troubles!

Had for a couple of weeks and so far mostly good. Having a few dramas with the Agenda widget / complications showing data.

Also the Sentry watch face, any reason it would just show icons and not the actual data within the sub dial areas like the info is shown on Mission Watch face?

See agenda just shows calendar not a count down like it does (sometimes) on the Mission Watch face (having issues with this working consistently), as well as the surf conditions not showing any details for a quick reference. 😕

Re: Nixon Mission straps too short

my too, too short, which one u try? i like the cement colored original strap...

Be careful with this watch!!!
I loved mine & bought another one but shortly after I bought my 2nd one I was wearing the 1st one while working when I went to look @ the time & noticed the screen was foggy inside so I turned it off & left it for a couple weeks but couldn't get it to turn back on so I opened it up & sure enough it was corroded inside..
Now last week I was wearing my 2nd one & while working went to check the time & the same thing happened but this time it was off already so I contacted Nixon & sent both in, hopefully I'll get one back repaired.
Before you ask I have never opened the MicLock as I don't talk to my watch & probably never will.
I'm hoping they'll repair both due to a manufacturing defect & I'll sell them both, I think it has something to do with the charging ports underneath wearing out & moisture from sweating getting in, regardless it's still poor design

Hi

So I have had the Nixon mission since last Christmas and loved it I brought the orange version which was nice at the time but since I started a new job an orange watch is a bit out there so I wanted to change it to black now I couldn't find anywhere to buy non Nixon straps so was annoyed I had to fork out £45 for them and when I rang Nixon they said you can't change the bezel because of the antenna inside even they couldn't change it SO I DECIDED TO DO IT ANYWAY if we never try something we can't achieve it.
I removed the four bolts and underneath found the gold antenna painted the bezel and replaced it back onto the watch.

Everything works fine
I haven't tried putting it under water yet but after removing the bezel I can't see that it makes anything waterproof anyway. There is no O ring seal or any type of seal under the bezel and for a watch that can go under water 100meters I would imagine that a mechanical seal just would not suffice.

Anyway

YOU CAN TAKE THE BEZEL OFF PAINT IT AND REPLACE IT WITHOUT DAMAGING ANYTHING.

If you need any tips or have questions just ask.

Hi

I have written a full piece at the end of this thread but in a nut shell I wanted to paint my orange mission bezel so took it off and painted it I was told you couldn't but everything works fine there is a gold antenna ring underneath the bezel if you are careful you can do it without damaging anything
