no 3g and wifi together

how come the wifi and 3g dont stay on together....im at home and have wifi....i can make a phone call, text, surf the web, but cant use skype cause skype doesnt use wifi....why wont the phone just use the 3g connection to use skype....why does it tell me to disable the wifi?

When you connect to WiFi, it disables your Mobile network (3G) connection.. You can't have both on at the same time.

Wi-Fi takes over for 3G for data, the newest version of Skype, should allow you to use both at the same time. If not, just turn off Wi-Fi and it should work. The No Wi-fi with Skype is a VZW/Skype app issue.
