So I'm still waiting on my HOX to update. I have not tried to to factory reset the phone because I'm just kind of lazy to have to reinstall my apps if it doesn't work. Anyone have any ideas?

You need to do a factory reset. Backup all you stuff and there is an option before you do the reset to keep pics and such. It worked for me.

At this point it is clear that the OTA will never show itself unless you do a reset or install the update manually.
So if you really want it you'll need to do one or the other.
But the price seems very high for doing it, you'll lose the ability to root and as I'm just finding out some audio settings too.

OK I haven't gotten it either. Some people have said that a factory reset didn't do anything for them. Why would I need to factory reset if the phone is brand new?

Ha how dare you trying to tackle this with logic! jk.

No really I think that there is a glitch with the original software or something with At&t's server side.
To be honest I never tried just reseting and then update it, when I got tired of checking my updates for something that has been out for 3 weeks on a daily basis I just rolled heavy with the manual update from HTC direct.

I was going to do that until it said I needed to download HTC Sync Manager but it's not avaialble for mac. Seems like I'm stuck. If I can get the update through a reset, I'll obviously gladly do it.

Yes I did forget that it doesn't work on OSX I had to boot into parallel win7 to make it work.
Its funny but every-time I use that I feel so dirty lol.

I refuse to use any windows programs on my mac haha.

OK so I took a leap of faith and reset my phone. Update popped up as soon as my phone rebooted. Crazy. It does require you to be on WiFi though.

I just got my HOX a week ago... HT25 series white. Been flawless. The same day I got it , about 3 hours later sent me a notification for the update. You might might need to try a reset..

I haven't gotten the update either. Can you take it into an AT&T store for them to update your phone without resetting it?

I shall perform said factory reset and will update when I'm done.

If this doesn't work expect an angry fist shook in all of your general direction!

okay, i just did a quick skim of the thread and didn't pick up on which version of the hox you have. so just fyi, i have a stock int'l (uk) version. the uk ota just came out and i have received it. but while waiting, i was checking for the ota by two methods: going to settings/about/software updates/check now and also trying the android check in shown at: Secret codes for Android
just to make sure my imei got in the queue.

i think it was the first method that called up the ota; i didn't get an automatic update. you may want to try it a few times before doing a factory reset.

I own a int'l one X, in India, and I am downloading the 4.0.4 update right now.

Keep us posted, also can you please indicate if you have the Euro version of the One X or the East Asia version, or something different, and the software number of what you end up with.

What do you know, the update just popped up for me. I guess better REALLY late than never.

So I am currently manually updating my HOX. I'll post again when, and if, it completes

And also I am using the att one x if you were looking for that info.
