Can't seem to find the ai cinema with live effects in the camera. Attached is a screenshot of how it looks on my phone. Can anyone clear this up for me?

Hi thanks for getting back on this I have 9.0.0.108. I have checked for update it just insists I have the most recent. But that could well be the problem. I have raised a query with Hauwei, mind you i'm not holding my breath. I am in the UK.

Hi Alan,

I am also in the UK and have the same firmware as you. I have tried both angles to try and force the update, as in through the phone and also through the Huawei windows application and both say I have the latest. I think if its not sorted in the next fews days then I will be returning my phone as its false advertising. It was one of the features that I was looking forward to if honest.

Hopefully this gets sorted promptly....

Andy

Thanks Andy I feel sure it will get sorted but apart from this I am very impressed, just not sure if it's nearly £400 better than the soon to be released oneplus 6T.

Can't update the firmware either. It says it have the latest and it's 9.0.0.108. Anyone know how to get the latest firmware? Maybe it's because of region, I'm in Norway..

I'm in U.K just picked up my new mate 20 Pro. Really pleased with it but like you it's not saying a firmware update is available. Was really looking forward to trying out this function too.

I've got mixed feeling . happy that I'm not alone on this but pretty pissed that UK version don't even have this function. I've also been looking for the 3D object scanning too which I have no idea with which app it was done or if it was built in.
anyway, if anyone knows when the new firmware is available, please give us a shout. cheers

So far I am not that impressed, a lot of the advertised features are not present, I have bluetooth issues randomly disconnecting my Fenix 5x depending on what I am doing with the phone, also tried a contactless payment to find it was not working today and having my partner just use her Samsung S9 to show off, I sold my Note 9 for this phone... Thinking it was a big mistake

AICS have a small piece on I have tried to put a link and waiting for a moderator to approve it.I have copied it here.

"As reported by Christina von techloupe, the Huawei Mte 20 Pro firmware update called 9.0.0.122 (C432E10R1P16) is now available for download. The Android Update is 369 MB in size, the download in the wifi is therefore appropriate.

The update leaves the Huawei Mate 20 Pro on Android 9 Pie and EMUI 9.0. The update is intended to improve the camera, there are new filters and effects and the AI zoom function for the improved recording of mini-videos. The face unlock performance should also have been improved.

As always, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro firmware update 9.0.0.122 (C432E10R1P16) will be rolled out in waves. So it may take a while for everyone to arrive."

Its very frustrating for them to advertise features but not include them at launch, pixel 3 for example said it will have a way of taking dark photos but said well before launch it would be an update after launch. Why could they not have said this about the mate P20 Pro. Hopefully this update will also help fix the bluetooth and contactless issues as they should have been basic updates pointed out by the test products that people use.

Andy

it's definitely mis advertising!
anyway, just wondering if you guys have tried this feature in camera
more --> light painting --> light grafitti.
I took some photos and it seems to have mirrored all the photos I took automatically.
I'm not sure if it meant to be this way or something wrong with this firmware version.
i also tried resetting back to default setting, but it is still doing it.
not sure what's going on here.
if anyone can please comment on this, that'll be great. cheers

Glad someone started this thread, I thought I was being thick not being able to find this AI cinema option. Disappointed its not there yet, but no way i'd return the phone. Very impressed so far, its amazing. We'll get he update soon, don't worry. (UK too)

I just read huawei said 3d scanning and AI video will be available via a software update....

It's sort of related to the region - it's a different ROM for each region, so the UK version, even if it's updated, is for UK phones - you have to wait until the Norwegian ROM gets updated. It may just be the CSC or it may be major changes, but they're done one at a time, not one change and everyone gets the new ROM.

Hi, the most recent update will add this feature to the phone. I have mate 20 Pro in my household and it's currently not having this feature but updates are rolling out by regions so it may be a wait but will come soon. Bear in mind if you see XDA forum about the Kirin 980 you will see that the function is embedded in the operating system and can be enabled, disabled or tweaked by updates, therefore it's definitely there we will definitely get it (why would someone deliberately turn off a feature if it's ready) and the update is already started to roll out, just not for our regions yet. It will come soon.

Exact same thing happened and a horrible call with customer services who effectively admitted they had lied to me on the call

Accordingly they release batches for the next update and you will have it before mid November

Also disgusting level of customer service whom advised me they had never advertised these features as available in any of their adverts

I was struggling to compete with the guy and his lies
Wish I had stayed ios after that call

Spoke with o2 afterwards who said go back and swap device
