No alerts unless screen on

Ok, I'm not sure if this has been talked about but, I'm not getting any notification alerts unless I have the screen on. I thought maybe it was because of an optimized setting under battery settings but Gmail is set to be unrestricted and has the same issue as all other apps so at a loss. I also do not have adaptive battery option set.

This was a problem for me too on a Xiaomi device when it was running some of the later builds of MIUI 11. It still bugs out from time to time on MIUI 12. I get Instagram notifications after hours of them being sent.
Are you noticing this problem on data, WIFI, or both? And what phone are you using?

I'm seeing this regardless of wifi or cellular. I'm using pixel 6 pro

Did you set it up as new or from a backup? I often find restoring from a backup can cause bugs even if they were not on the previous device. It may be a final solution to factory reset and install as a new device.

I'm assuming you already checked Lock Screen Settings and verified you have it set to show all notifications?

I set it up new.

Yeah I have it set to all notifications, although I believe that is more for displaying rather than notification sounds. All my notifications show as they come in just no sounds happen.
