No app sideloading update for Atrix?

Pardon me if this is a stupid question, but when I loaded the Gingerbreak apk file to root the phone, I used adb with the install command. Would this not work with *any* apk file you want to sideload? Or are folks wanting a "one click" interface to use in place of the adb command line?

Yes to both

I find that i can understand adb more and feels easier but thanks for clearing that Tom S.

Just confirmed with AT&T that the Atrix will be updated for non-market apps -- it's just not ready yet.

Oh thats great news! Even though I have already rooted. Nice to know I can go back to stock if I want later on down the road, and be able to sideload! Currently running GingerBlur and it has been pretty damn good. Only a few crashes. Nothing major. Thanks for finding that out and sharing, I was beginning to worry! :) Your form PCola! hah! Of you all waiting for the update I say just root with gingerbreak and use gladenabled to allow side loading.

I agree philharmonik. I've been running gingerblur for ~ 1 week (heavy use) and haven't run into a crash yet. It's definitely a solid rom. One that I will consider flashing back to everytime after I flash back to stock for the OTA updates :)

Well I'm a new Atrix user (all of one day) and the Amazon app store was giving away Retro Camera Plus for free today. Being the cheap one that I am, I was frustrated that I couldn't get it for my Atrix NOW!!! Frustrated enough to fiddle with SuperOneClick's adb and the command prompt and GingerBreak to Root phone.

ROOTED.

Found an app on the Android market to "Add Unknown Sources Option" after phone was rooted.

I do have dropbox account installed, but once I installed and used the app, have had no problem first installing the Amazon app store app, my target "RetroCamera" and even a cheap gas finder app. I could get the gas app on Marketplace, but it was nice getting the one from Amazon!

Anyways, thanks to everyone out there in the "information superhighway!" I'm not a hacker or even a nerd, but I am nothing if not determined.
