Hello,

I recently purchased a new Samsung Galaxy S7. I'm having an issue that I did not have on my old S3 previously.

When I go to a website like reddit, where users post image threads, and I click on a link for a direct image (where the link locates to a .i.imgur.com/FILENAME.jpg or i.imgur.com/FILENAME.png), I get an error that says "No Application found to open the selected file."

I CAN, however, long click and open the exact same file when I open it in a new tab.

This is happening when using both Chrome and the default Samsung Internet browser, so it is not just Chrome.

I've searched all over online and cannot seem to find any solutions. Can anyone help?

Welcome to Android Central! Try going to the App Manager, tap More, then Reset All App Preferences.

I just had this issue and found no help online. After upgrading to marshmallow and being unhappy with the changes to default program selection, I downloaded a program called "better open with" and used that to manage the way files or links were opened. Great program so far except the image issue. I could not open an image link. After some unsuccessful searching, I fumbled around a bit until I found the cause. I had mistakenly allowed "better open with" to handle opening images. I disabled it via a simple toggle within the program. The issue was resolved. Image links shall henceforth be handled as any other url.

I hope this helps.
