No Audio During Video Calls - Android Tablet

We just purchased an Android tablet. It's a Dragon Touch Max 10 running Android 9. The audio works fine when playing music or making notification sounds. However, during video calls, it doesn't put out any sound. Volume is all the way up. The mic works so people on the other end can hear me. I've tried Zoom, Skype, FB Kids Messenger. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to Android Central! Any Bluetooth devices connected?

No. I turned Bluetooth off to make sure. It seems other people have had this issue with this device.

Try the other way around -- see if you can hear call audio through wired or Bluetooth headphones. If you can, then that at least we would know that the device is getting that audio, and the question would be why it isn't routing the audio to the main speaker. If you can't, then it may be a more fundamental issue with how the firmware handles video calls.

Can't hear it through bluetooth or wired head phones either. I think you are right about this being something more fundamental.

Oh right, I forgot about that. How about Hangouts video call?
