That is the problem. I open the photo, then the three bars, and get the photo editing options, but not delete option.I open the picture, press the three bars in the upper right corner. One of the choices in the drop down is delete.

You might like the way QuikPic, available free in Playstore, works better than Gallery.

In addition to Camera Launcher for Nexus 7, there is Camera JB+. I don't remember if it is a paid app or free.
