Ive never had the update problems, but the lag has almost turned me against ever looking at a tablet again.

This was a first for me and I've had mine since they were first released (this is actually my second one, the first one had screen lockup problems after 10 months). I followed the instructions that rinconmike posted (thanks Mike!!) and got it back up and running. It's much snappier now but there are hardly any apps installed. I got the July update again already but now I'm hesitant to apply it.
Glad it worked. I have two since release and it happened to one. I did the July update on both last night and no issue.
I usually plug in the device before and update. When the issue happened, my wife started it without it plugged in but around 90% power. Half way thru I saw she started and was not plugged in and I plugged it in. I wonder if a change in power at the right time corrupted something.
I found those directions online. Kudos goes to the guy that created it.
This happened to me with both the April and the July updates. Both times I was able to bring the device back to life by reloading the OS via ADB, even with the bootloader locked.
