Not sure if LTE access available with these -

Walmart Family Mobile Unlimited 1GB - Unlimited minutes, unlimited messaging, unlimited 4G (listed as HSPA+) data (throttled to 2G speeds after 1GB) = $40

Simple Mobile Unlimited 3GB - Unlimited minutes, unlimited messaging, unlimited 4G (listed as HSPA+) data (throttled to 2G speeds after 3GB) = $50

Simple Mobile Unlimited 5GB - Unlimited minutes, unlimited messaging, unlimited 4G (listed as HSPA+) data (throttled to 2G speeds after 5GB) = $60



And the usual caveats - these networks need to work where you need them to work. Example - AT&T customers at my work need mircocell access throughout the building to have usable coverage. T-Mobile customers at my office need to go outside to use their phones.

I use Straight Talk At&t. Since going to a set amount of data (2.5 gb) per month and getting LTE I think it is probably the best deal around. I actually use my phone as a phone and use a lot of minutes and texts. My data use is maybe 1.8 - 2 gb's a month if that much. I know it's $45 + tax but most of the time you can get refills on EBay for $40 tax free and sometimes even cheaper. I just got 90 day refills for my daughter and myself $105 each which is $35 a month WOW

Aio data speeds are throttled at 8 mbps, LTE or not. FamilyMobile from Wal Mart has no LTE coverage - their plan page says first 2.5 GB at *3G* speeds.

Prepaid Cell Phone Plans, GoPhone Plans, & Prepaid Smartphone plans from AT&T - Go phone prepaid can be had for about the price of AIO if you buy pin from 3rd party and they do not throttle LTE like AIO. So if speeds over 8mp down are important then that might be an option. Starts at $60.

Mobile Service Plan | Solavei - Solavei works on T-Mo towers and gives 4GB of high speed service till throttle for $49.

https://www.airvoicewireless.com/PlansA.aspx - Airvoice is one I don't know much about. But they have some lesser plans for those not needing much data and it looks like they use AT&T towers. The $40 a month 1GB plan isn't bad for some lighter data users.

Great tip about looking for refill cards on eBay! I do that for my Xbox Live subscription, but never thought of this. I'll definitely give it a try when I move to StraightTalk

Yeah, I just switched last week from AT&T contract service to ST $45 a month plan and love it. Same exact LTE service I had, but now at half the price.....no brainer. I don't go over 2.5gb so I shouldn't have an issue with throttling. So far I'm digging it and have no issues. I bought the sim card online and they had free shipping, it was like $7.xx shipped fedex 3 day.

I have that plan as well. Just make sure you ask for "truly unlimited" not just "unlimited"

"truly unlimited" contains absolutely no throttling

"unlimited" contains throttling after a certain amount.

I think Sprint also has a pretty good offer. Unlimited everything (Voice, txt, and data) for $60.00.

I've had several conversations with several different agents from Sprint, all confirming that the Nexus 5 can be used with the $60 unlimited, no contract plan. I think you found an uninformed or improperly informed agent.
