WiFi seems to be fine, but if I am out and about, then I have found I lose data connectivity.

I have a good signal strength with the H showing, but apps report no network.

Going in and out if airplane mode does not make any difference, it reconnects to the network OK (T-Mobile / Orange / EE in the UK).

Powering off and on the phone fixes it for a while.

Any suggestions?

Roger

I get that sometimes also.

I put it in airplane mode and back out and get a good data connection.

AT&T on Straight Talk.

Any ideas from anyone?

This is exactly why I was logging on tonight. When I go from WiFi to 3G, the data NEVER works. I will pop Airplane Mode on and off a few times and then it'll start...maybe. It usually takes about 5 minutes for it to go from 5 grey bars to 5 blue bars. I know the up-and-down availability is on the Brasilian providers, which are horrible...but there's no reason the phone shouldn't be able to connect to the network.

Please! Does anyone know how to fix this???

Did some more searching, and I think I've found an answer:

Google Groups

Here's a direct excerpt from Paul (thanks Paul!):

Connection issues with mobile data are usually due to a misconfiguration of the Access Point Names (APN) setting. If you go to Settings > More > Mobile networks > Access Point Names there may or may not be something already filled in there.

Check with your mobile service provider what the correct APN setting should be for their network, and enter the info they provide by tapping the 3 dots in the lower-right corner of the APN settings screen and selecting New APN.

I just looked up my APN via a Google search and bing, bang, boom...instant fix! I'm hoping this isn't temporary and hope it works for you guys too!

Edit: Argghhhhhhhh didn't work quite as well as I wanted. Problem came back after I tested it again.

Second Edit: It appears this is a software problem...hopefully Google will address it soon.
