No Data connection

Guys , this happens a lot and always has , I lose data connection, it will say NO SERVICE, then it pops back up. I have always and still do have texting issues with this phone. Could this be caused by the no service issue?

Yes. SMS and MMS use cellular data, not WiFi, in most circumstances. There are exceptions (Google Voice) and several others.

Thank you, I have used several texting apps, from messenger to Hangouts, and Textra , they all suffer from the lost connection. Whatsapp seems to not tho, really I would just like to use the native messenger app but that fails horrible, texts don't go through, and then people say they the same text multiple times.
