Why can't I play back videos on my phone that require flash?

Trying to view content on sites like MSNBC I am unable to view videos.

Is there a way to get flash on this phone? :-(

Yes. You have to sideload the flash apk. Its in the fourms. Not every browser supports flash.

Sideload flash and use xScope browser to view HD flash. That's what I do on my Nexus 7. Unless, is the stock browser flash-compatible?
