I want to preface this by saying I know very little about camera tech. The only photos I take are of my kids and that is all. My question is, is there any way to take full screen photos with this phone? On all of the video hand's on I've seen it seems that the s7 and edge takes and displays a 4:3 aspect ratio instead of a 16:9 in the camera app, and gallery. Is this true, and if so is there a way to take and display 16:9 ?

^what he said. 4:3 is a better ar for physical prints and tab s2 or other similarly ar devices , but worse for smartphone wallpaper.

Better to get full resolution shots in 4:3 and then crop whatever you don't want later/while setting up wallpaper.

I went to bestbuy today to check out this issue. Like what was said above, you can set the camera to 9mp 16:9 mode and take full screen photos. Quality wise while viewing on the phone, I could not tell a difference in photos taken in the store. If you are going to print them you may see a difference, not sure.

Also better if you share it on Instagram for example

Was puzzling this, and was not sure what my LG G3 took. When I checked, it is simiilar .. 13mp at 4:3, but 10Mp in W 16:9 ... is it the same on most smartphones then?

It depends.... I have seen it both ways.
