No Google Voice as default SMS, right?

Just so I haven't missed a setting, Google Voice is currently unavailable to choose as your default SMS app, right? Hangouts is my only option at present? And I can't route GV through Hangouts, right? Just making sure I'm reading this right.

pretty much correct. you can get messages to show up via hangouts but its not fully integrated (i.e. if you respond to a text via hangouts it will do so with your default number)

Thanks. Yeah, I don't like the fact that when I go to message someone from my People app it takes me to Hangouts and I have no option to change that. Hopefully they will add that soon. It would be a nice addition to the 4.4.1 update!

the bad news is that it likely won't come in that update. The good news is that it will likely come via an update to the app. the question remains will it be fixed the way you are hoping for or if it will just come when they properly integrate google voice into hangouts

The biggest annoyance about this for me is that I can't find anyway to use voice command for texts with GV.
