no in-call mic or speaker/ sound routing

[Android Central Question]

I have a samsung note 5 I am giving to my 11 yo daughter as her first cell phone. It was originally on Verizon. I have activated it on a straight talk sim for her. Sound is working fine when recording video and even using google hangouts. But there is no in-call audio when making phone calls. Also, if you put headphones in, it reboots. once it has rebooted with the headphones in, it will reboot if you try to connect a call. I have tried clearing cache. soft and hard resets. And updating from 6.0.1 to android 7. I have also turned off google voice listening and even tried sound about app... lost. help.

Welcome to Android Central! It might be corrupt firmware or a hardware fault. For the former, try using Verizon's Software Repair Assistant to reinstall the firmware.
