No longer able to use fingerprint unlock

[Android Central Question]

I have an asus ZenFone 5, and was previously able to use my fingerprint to unlock it. It recently updated and now is unable to. By that I mean I don't even have the option. The fingerprint option on the lock screen settings is greyed out and says "disabled by admin, encryption policy, or credential storage"

Any idea what I can do to fix this?

Have you tried safe mode? If it's still greyed out there, probably need factory reset.

Welcome to Android Central! Was this an official system update pushed by ASUS, or a file you downloaded from some website and installed manually?

Try going to Settings>Security and Clear Credentials.
