no marketplace?

Hi guys.. I recently got a samsung galaxy, and sadly there is no marketplace on it.. I cant seem to find any information on how to add the marketplace to my installed android

Slightly off-topic, but is there any app that can 'simulate' a marketplace? * Just wondering *

Still confusion about why some Galaxy's have the Market and some don't - a very odd move from Samsung I think.

You can download apps from SlideMe (SlideME | Android Community and Application Marketplace). To install them you need to make sure the option is ticked to allow you to install non-market apps (under settings on the phone), then transfer the .apk file to your SD card over USB, then use a file manager to install it.

I'm not quite sure how you install the file manager in the first place

Download and install android SDK from developer.android.com/sdk/1.6_r1/index.html
Then write adb install <path_to_your_apk>
