No missed call or voicemail notification

Have the LG G7 on Verizon and i do not get any missed call notifications or voicemail notifications. Nothing shows up in my notification area. Checked voice mail yesterday and had 8 voicemails, but was never notified I had any. Looked at settings and cant't find anything to change. Anyone know what I am doing wrong or the setting to change?

Have you gone into the voicemail app and then into settings and notifications?

Is this on an unlocked phone? If so, call Verizon and tell them to change your voicemail from "Basic Visual Voicemail" to "Basic Voicemail".

I have the Verizon variant. All notifications are set to show on lock screen, and on notification area. No missed calls show up or voicemail icon shows
