S10 with Android 11.

This am a new msg pops up on the home screen which i think pertains to Gmail and not Messages.

It reads: “no more messages left, look at menu options.” When I open gmail i do see all new emails. I just cant tell in “Options” what I am looking for.

Check your notification history to see what app sent that message. It should be under notifications in settings.

Could also download the app nice catch from the galaxy store. It is part of Good Lock and see what it catches if the notification comes back again.

Or thirdly download the app toast source from the Play Store. This does the same thing as the Nice Catch app

Re: New message popping up

Is that a popup "toast" notification in the middle of the screen, or is it in the status bar/notification panel?

Duplicate threads merged, and original guest post changed to you as owner.

B. Diddy -
Not yet installed Toast. Just begun ‘playing’ with Nice Catch - so not yet used to how it works.

The message pops up near bottom of the screen. Not sure if makes a difference, but I use Nova Launcher.

And how does Good Lock work? When I tap on the icon app it says “permission denied”. But Nice Catch does open when I tap that icon.

Kizzy - Thx. My original post was as a guest because i could not see a Login button.

Welcome to Android Central! Any updates on your situation, OP? Did you download any new launchers or inbox/messages notifications apps, to group your Gmail and other email accounts? Also, does this issue persist in Safe Mode?

It seems the culprit was an App I use with my gen 1 Huawei watch. After deleting from the phone, the messages stopped popping up. App was “vibrations for android wear.”

Nice detective work! Thanks for letting us know the culprit -- this may help others as well.

Odd in that i have used this app for about a year now. So no idea what changed in the last few days.

Yay! So glad you figured this out!
