No more S Beam?

I remember having the S3 and Note 3 and you can send files to another Samsung by tapping the back together. Files get sent through WiFi direct which is super fast. The last time I used S Beam, it sent the files through Bluetooth. Is there a reason why they stopped that? Are they trying to push people to use more data and send files over the cloud?
