No Motorola Droid 2.1 Update this week...

I have my OC at 800Mhz, I really see no reason to have anything above that.
The browser lag is basically gone, and everything loads quicker.

It's inevitable.

No 2.1 = Root
Now, if only Moto+VZW were to release 2.1 then everything would be fine, and no need for rooting, well sorta, but, since they aint releasing it, a lot of people are rooting. I rooted back in January and been loving it since.

There are so many roms out there right now, that our options are pretty nice. Most of the 2.0.1 roms have all the goodies from 2.1 anyway, so either way it's pretty much the same phone.

Yea it's because the 2.1 ROM is pretty unstable, and a lot of us (I'm assuming here) would rather have a stable version over an unstable version.

Hence why I rooted to a stable rom and customized it they way I want it lol.
Most 2.1 apps (No launcher, weather/news, and desk clock) and a nice theme

I'm just hoping that Moto+VZW release it soon, I would rather have an officia release over a cooked release anytime.

don't know what rom you we're using but I'm running 2.1 and the only forced close I get is when rebooting and I have the sdcard widget on my homescreen if you want to know which its in my sig

Rooting seems a lot more difficult on Android then iPhone's Jailbreaking.

I wish I had the patience to sit down and read about it.

2.1 seems great and all, but it's not enough to have me root... Now 'over-clocking' seems like it could be a lot of fun.

Yes I must thank kosh but the only thing that's kinda odd is the luancher2 in landscape its only half screen. But no major errors the keyboard backlight even works
