No navigation notifications?

Not in love with here maps, and I noticed that notifications from Google maps aren't allowable in the gear manager. Did Samsung shoot themselves in the foot by trying to force me to use here maps?

Have you installed Here Navigator? I think I got turn by turn, before I installed it, but I know I'm getting them after installing it. Haven't tried deleting Here Navigator and trying without it, but might.

I got Here Navigator on the S2 to work. First, I downloaded Here Navigator on the S2 from the Gear Store on the device, and also downloaded Here Maps from the Play Store> Also, you have to register for a free account in the Here Maps app if you want to download offline maps. I did that and then downloaded the map for my state.

Fortunately, the downloads were fast while on wifi, and, while still on wifi, I spoke my desired destination into the S2 and it understood perfectly.

After a couple of seconds, while having the S2 paired to my Note 4, I heard the spoken directions on the phone, while the S2 showed the distance to the next turn, accurately, so far.

Also, since I'm using a S2 Sport (ie,not the GPS-enabled 3G model), you have to keep GPS active on your phone while you're navigating.

It's great that Here maps work, but the OP (and I and probably others...) want to know about Google Maps.

I'm not a big fan of Here and want a smart watch that will provide navigation while using Google Maps. Does this watch do that?

Here maps is laggy.. Google maps and waze are the only 2 I use. Google owns waze and both are perfect! Samsung needs to fix this issue asap and samsung needs to let us use Google voice

I don't think Google would allow samsung to use Google now voice since it would compete with their android wear

Google will never let Samsung use any of the Google apps on its Tizen watches. Tizen is a competitor to Android in case you missed it.
