The show stopper is no SD slot and especially the fixed (non removable) battery.

Already have active topics on that. I'm interested in hearing if in fact they've just failed to mention NFC, or think NFC is unnecessary.

Disappointing, but OTOH it's not like NFC has taken off yet. Chicken and the egg, I know.

I'm betting on NFC applications arriving in 8-18 months. A friend of mine is working on extending an entertainment app to mobiles which uses tags. A phone lacking in this could be obsolete sooner than the owner would like.
