No notification sounds occasionally

Sometimes I lose the sounds on my gmail. Turning the phone off and on fixes it usually, but sometimes I need to clear the system cache. That always fixes it.

I've noticed this myself (on my phone, not yours). I'll get notified of an email on my desktop and wait and wait and don't hear anything from my phone. Sometimes the email will be on the phone, just no notification sound. Sometimes the phone won't pull email until I turn it on (out of sleep). It isn't consistent and all my settings are set the way I want. I like the phone, but there are some quirks that are keeping me from being enthusiastic about it. I switched from an LG phone, which lost me because of a faulty motherboard issue. I'm not sure if I will get another Motorola phone after this one.
