No notifications on icons

After an EMUI update on Huawei mate 9, i dont get notifications symbols on the icons. Any knows anything about this. Thnx

Long press on empty part of screen. Goto settings. Click "badge app icons". Toggle badge display mode...

This is assuming you're on Oreo.
