No notifications when phone is on silent mode

I have a S8+ and my phone just updated to 8.0 Oreo. This has screwed up a lot of settings, mostly for my messaging app. I use Message+. I have fixed most issues but I cant seem to fix this one. At night I turn my phone to silent mode. If I receive any texts during that time it will not show up in the notification bar or show up as an app icon badge saying 1, 2, etc. I have to open up messages to see if anyone has texted. I've checked all settings for the app and the app notifications in the app manager and cant find anything about when the phone is in silent mode. It also changed the LED to blue even though the app is set to green but that one is minor. Any help for these issues would be great.

Have you tried turning on "do not disturb" instead? This may help with the notifications. I have "do not disturb" scheduled to come on automatically at night and turn off in the morning.

Hey that works perfectly and it's an option in the drop down menu like the silent and vibrate options are. Just weird they changed how the silent mode worked. Thanks a lot!
