No Omate Truesmart coverage? Is it just site policy, or am I missing something?

Do the folks at Android Central just choose not to report on Kickstarter projects? I suppose it would be an understandable policy to abstain from reporting on something until it's actually a product, but this project has multiple working prototypes and has already been funded five times over. I've seen Pebble posts on this site before, even before the Kickstarted company had started shipping product.

Why haven't I seen an article about this yet? I'm already pledged at the 179 dollar level as a replacement for my now-stolen Galaxy Nexus, and maybe in the future if it turns out not to be enough of a phone for me, I'll use it as a companion for my Nexus 5. But with a SIM slot, it's a standalone smartwatch I can use for phone calls. 3G radio, Wifi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, 5 megapixel camera, micro SD slot, all with Android 4.2.2, crammed into a waterproof chassis. ( with sapphire glass since they just hit their 500K stretch goal) It's perfect for me. My calls are short, I use GPS a lot, I listen to All Access with a bluetooth stereo headset (LG Tone + for life, yo), I like watches and I need a new phone. Bam, done, sold.

It's promising, and it'll be shipped out by November. Has anyone else pledged yet? Isn't anyone else interested in a standalone smartwatch?

I'll get my one in October.

And in my opinion it is the far best smartwatch you get right now.

Dualcore, up to 1 GB RAM, 8 GB flash and 32 GB SD-card plus BT, WiFi, 2G/3G and all the other stuff you get in current smartphones.

All what is known and confirmed by Omate is in a community driven WIKI: http://omatetruesmart.wikispaces.com/

The KickStarter-campaign will end in only 40 hours, so if you are interested, you should hurry up!

The 512 MB/4 GB version, delivered in November costs 200 USD (plus 15 USD for shipping outside the US) and the 1 GB/8 GB version will be shipped in December for 250 USD.

oh, the "extreme edition" nearly runs out, only two available.

But may be they add an other hundred again, or you get the November edition, where you can add 20 USD to get it with 1GB RAM, more than 4 GB is not possible, but you still can add a micro-SD card up to 32 GB :-)

Less than 24 hours left on the Kickstarter....
finally it is (over-)funded, 4,378 backers, 1.032.352 USD pledged of 100.000 USD goal :-)

Anyone else who got one?

So wouldn't it be great to get an entry in "WEARABLE ANDROID TECH" for the Omate TrueSmart?

There is even the Qualcomm Toq, which probably never will be available as product!

Smartwatch Fans (use same login as here) has an Omate forum. I agree that there should be articles and a forum here since it is a full Android device and thus much more AC related than some of the other topics and articles.

I can't wait to get my Omate. It is going to be the perfect device for me. I just wish that they could communicate a little better.
