No onscreen keyboard after upgrading to 4.2.2

Hi!

Yesterday I updated my P5113 to 4.2.2.

After that I haven't got any keyboard at all.

I can't even set up my tab after the factory reset.

Anybody else that have the same problem?

Under Settings -> Language and input -> Keyboards and input methods it says that Default is "Samsung keyboard" but the Samsung Keyboard further down is greyed out with the box checked.
Pressing the settings for that keyboard only shows a blank page..

Maybe I have to do a clean install with a new firmware download?

Hi.

Can't even set up my Tab or account since there isn't any keyboard!!!!!! So I can't access the Google Play or anything that needs keyboard input..

Okay, I missed that part. Is this an update from Samsung or a custom flash?

Okay, the best option I can think of would be to enable USB debugging on the device, install the Android SDK on the PC and set up an ADB connection. You can download a keyboard .apk file from XDA or a similar source, and use the ADB terminal to install it with "adb install keyboard.apk.

You have to enable developer options. Go to settings, about device and tap the build number approximately 7 times. Then go back to the settings menu and developer options is there and USB debugging is in that menu.

Hi.

Solved the problem by download the Google keyboard apk file and copied it to the memory card and installed it from there.

Now I have a keyboard!

That's great news! As a further precaution, you may want to continue to investigate a way to get the stock Samsung keyboard back onto the device just in case you have to reset in the future.
