No option to change screen resolution...

So I've heard the new Oreo update does not have the option to change the screen resolution. The low end budget phone, LG Stylo 4 has it. The G6 and V30 has it. Why did they leave out the V20? Is it a hardware problem? Or do they don't want to limit the features for older users? Any way to hack it to change it? Reason why is better battery saving abilities... I don't need a 4k screen... especially if it's not used for VR.

LCD and VR don't mix too well but it does work

I don't wanna root it. Seems more like a hassle and things can go wrong easily.
