Hi,

I have a Galaxy S3 on Sprint.

I recently installed Rom Manager premium, which installed Clockworkmod 6.0.1.2.

I have not been able to partition my external sd card using clockworkmod.

I read some posts that suggested that the sd card must be formatted using fat32. I tried that, I formatted the sd card on my PC using fat32, but that did not seem to help.

when I look in the advanced section of clockworkmod, I do not see the menu option for partitioning the external sd card.

Please let me know if anyone has a solution to this issue.

Thanks,
Paul

First what are you trying to partition it for?

Second you only need to format it if it is a 64gb card.

2nd is not necessarily correct. I have a . 32 gb card that was formatted with extfat. I had to format it to fat32 for cwm to read it.

What did you use to format it? Use easus partition master.

Agreed. There is no reason too partition it.

Edit: I would suggest you not use Rom Manager. Do everything straight from cwm recovery as its more reliable and safer than Rom Manager. Rom Manager is prone to screwing up.

Thanks for the quick replies.

I'm trying to partition the card because I'm hoping that partitioning the external sd card will allow ROM manager to recognize it. I'd like to be able to perform backups of the current rom and download new roms directly to the external sd card via rom manager.

Secondly, I'm wondering if something is wrong with the cwm i have installed. I've seen videos where there is an option called 'partion sd card' under the 'advanced' menu in cwm, but that option does not exist when I run cwm on my phone.

There is nothing you can do on Rom Manager that you can't do with cwm. Again Rom Manager will cause you headaches. My advice is to stay away from it.

Cwm doesn't create or change partitions for the gs3. Different versions for different phones have different options and functions.
