No or do not symbol

Woke up this morning to a no or do not symbol between my wifi and BT symbols. What is this and why is it here?
The symbol is a circle with a line through it.

I think that just means the phone is on silent.

Sounds like it's in "None" mode for notifications. Use the volume buttons to activate the drop shade then tap the screen for "Priority" or "All" (Priority will show a star in the notification bar, All is the normal setting).
